home sick/mommy sick

Today, right now, I'm missing my mommy.

I can't wait till the next time I go home. I know my mom and I will do lots of laughing, talking till the wee hours of the morning, and get pints of Blue Bell ice cream to eat while we sit on the couch and watch movies. And of course, she'll make me menudo.
One day, I'll live in Texas again and she'll only be a drive away.

  1. Hi Roni,
I can remember living 7 hours away from my parents after leaving home for school and then life in the big city. I can honestly say that I was homesick for my beautiful mom everyday until years later, they followed me and bought a house in my neighbourhood. Doesn't matter how old they are or we are -- there are time when we just want our moms, and no one else will do! I miss my mommy too!

    1. Your comments always come at the right time, Lyn. It's so incredible to have a friend I've never met, have the perfect words sometimes! Thank you for that.
The goal is for the next move, after Florida, to be to Texas. There are a few branches out there for my husband's soon-to-be company. I hope he'll be able to transfer after two or three years. I'd love to be a short drive from my mom again. Because you're right, no matter how old we are, there are times (like when I'm sick) when I need/want her to care for me more than anyone! I'm such a momma's girl and proud! haha :)
I hope everything is harmoniously in your world, Lyn. *hugs*
